The 2002 annual Spring meeting was held at Little Cayman Beach Resort May 18 -25, 2002. Little Cayman Island and Little Cayman Beach Resort were the perfect pair- the ideal combination of spectacular diving and tropical resort luxury. Little Cayman, like the rest of the Cayman chain, is known for its relaxed atmosphere and world-class diving, and ISAM travelers were not disappointed.
The scientific sessions were hosted by Ann Barker- Griffith, MD of SUNY Upstate Medical University and featured the always-popular Dr. Kenneth Kizer as well as eric Mueller from Mote Marine Lab. Our speakers were a real hit and enjoyed by all. The ISAM group even participated in reef damage projects that will be used by Mote Marine Lab in their research.
Reef Divers offered three boat divers a day to our group. Diving in Little Cayman is rated the best in the Caribean by National Geagraphic photographer David Doubilet and underwater cinematographer Satan Waterman, and with good reason. ISAM divers were treated to a variety of marine life and saw more turtles than ever before.
As always, our Spring meeting was a big success. We look forward to seeing you netx year in San Salvador.
